If you don't know my "FRAN LEIGH" (that's how she says "friend" in Southern English) it's a must...you must go check her out! 6 Unspectacular Quirks Meme!!!!

1. I'm a FREAK when it comes to my flat iron! I'm always thinking I left it on? It drives Mr. "S" crazy! There are times when we are leaving to go somewhere Mr. "S" says, "Did you turn off your straightener?" before we even walk out the door!!!

2. I can't stand it if the shower curtain is left open after someone is done taking a shower! The toilet seat "UP" flips me out too!

3. I hate when people drag their fork across their teeth while eating! It makes my skin crawl! Are you one of those people that do that...lol!

4. I'm a teeth freak! I love going to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned if I leave and my mouth doesn't hurt I feel they didn't give me a good cleaning!

5. I have a certain way "I" load the dish washer! I can fit more in! I'm very particular!!! I'm also that way with the pantry! All my can goods and spices are organized!

6. I can't stand milk! I won't drink it! I dunk my ginger snap cookies in water! I've done this since I was a little girl!!!! Yeah, I know! I'm weird!

Since then I've been clean but I'm due for a check up!

The weekend has come and gone.....

Mr. "S" and I didn't get a whole lot done this weekend but what was done was HUGE!!!! The aerobic septic was installed and running! My best bud Courtney her hubby Jason came up Saturday afternoon and hook up our central air conditioner. So we now have central air and heat!!! YIPPEE!!!! Each weekend we are getting a step closer to a livable lake house!!! It's hard work but we can't wait to reap the benefits in the end!!!!

There are soooooooooooo many of you that say you wished you could come here or you wished you had our lake view!!! It makes me appreciate what we have each and every time yall say that! Sometimes people (YES, "ME") can take things for granted!!!! When I hear yall say that it really makes me appreciate it even more! There are days when we are up at the lake and I wished we had water front so I could just go jump in the lake and float on my tube but then there are days that I love the privacy we have with the woods surrounding our back yard!!! If you ever take a trip to Houston or if you are in the surrounding area, our house is open to you! We love having friends and family over!!!

Wedding Update....

A few of you left me comments on my last post asking how the wedding plans were coming along and asking for a wedding update.....


Well, there really isn't one? Update I mean! lol! Got ya there didn't I? I haven't really thought much about the wedding! I don't know why but maybe I'm just kind of blah with that too? The initial excitement is over and the sail date is so far off. We are more consumed with the house right now than anything!

I was a little upset the other night at dinner. My dad came over to eat with us and he asked me, "what about this cruise"? My mom spilled the beans! UGH! I haven't had the chance to sit down and talk to dad about the cruise. I was soooooooooo mad at her! I even gave her a piece of my mind yesterday and she hung up on me! If yall only new my mom like Giants Fan does. Some of you may or may not know, my mom and dad are split up and have been since 1995. They just never divorced. I don't know why they never divorced? They are weird! I was pissed at my mom because it wasn't her place to say ANYTHING to my dad about the cruise and our wedding. It was "OUR" place to ask dad. So, dads answer was NO! He said he wouldn't go on the cruise its not his "THING" but he would pay for mine and Mr. "S" tickets. (I would much rather have him there with us than pay for our way!) Then he proceeded to ask me if I really wanted my mom to go...lol! I think that might be one reason why he isn't going. Who knows? I can't see my dad away from the house for 7 days out on the water in the Caribbean. For real! He is a home-body! He likes to piddle around. He likes to work on things. He has animals to tend to. He has 15 acres to mow. I'm just sooooooooo torn! I figured my dad would say no but there was this deep down feeling in side me he would still say "YES". So I'm a little bummed out! =(

Other news.....
It's the weekend! YIPPEE! As if yall didn't already know that! HA! I had to remind you! We are headed up to the lake house tonight after work! Tomorrow we are doing sheet rock work inside, mudding the walls where there are cracks from the move, taping and floating! I can't wait till we start painting! I love to paint! I also forgot to tell yall about the laminate hardwood flooring we bought last Friday night! We are going to install it throughout the whole house! I'm so excited!!!! We were going to leave the existing carpet in the house because it was fairly new but we couldn't pass up the clearance price of $0.97 a square foot and it was the color and look we have been searching for!

Snake looking for shelter.....

I went out on our apartment patio this morning to see how bad it was really raining to find a snake taking shelter from the rain and mushy ground. Let's just say I gave him the boot! No snakes allowed buddy! =) I tried taking a picture of the snake with my camera phone but it didn't turn out so good! So I'm not going to attempt to post it. Yall would be like, "Where is the snake, I don't see it" lol

Moving on......
Monday night my Durango started running funny? Like it was missing or something? I didn't know if I bought some bad gas on my last fill up or if one of my spark plugs wasn't firing?!?! (Are yall wondering why I might know things like this? I received "Miss Goodwrench" my senior year! Yep, I took Auto Mechanics as one of my electives!) Any ways, I didn't think much of it until yesterday...it got really bad...I thought it was going to die on me at the red light coming to work! I would have been totally embarrassed! I made it to work but left again for lunch (hello, what was I thinking) and it did the same thing...even worse...I seriously felt like I was riding a motorcycle because it was idling so rough. Then my check engine light came on! YIKES! It's time to worry! I called Mr. "S" and I didn't get an answer so I call my dad. He has a buddy that works on cars. We dropped it off at his house last night! He has already called me today to let me know it's ready! Thank goodness! There was a short going to the fuel injectors or something like that!! No parts needs! Do you know how SWEET it is to have a mechanic FRIEND? If I would have taken my car into a mechanic shop I would have came out hosed! I'm so thankful it was nothing major! We are hoping "OLD FAITHFUL" (my Durango) will hold up until November when we can trade her in for a new gas saving car! Does anyone have any ideas for a cute, cheap, 4-Door, good warranty, gas saving car? I don't have a clue what I want. Mr. "S" is really digging the Mazda 3. I just want the best car for the best price. I'm a shopped. I will compare cars till I'm blue in the face. When I bought my Durango there was no comparing, I just knew what I want. There was no if's, and's or but's...I just got it and I loved everything about it! Now she is old, wore out and uses way to much gas! I can't keep up with her anymore! =( I will miss her! So if yall have any car tips for me...I'm all ears!

Bloggy Blues....

Sorry I haven't been posting! I just haven't felt like it! I've been in the "BLOGGY BLUES"! All is well with me...I don't know what it is. I just haven't had the time to read blogs or post on my blog.

I hope yall understand! I do miss yall! I think of yall!

We've been really busy working on the lake house! We have a lot to do in a short amount of time! Think about it! We have to be in the lake house by the end of September and out of our apartment! Just look at the calender and count the number of weekends and take 3 weekends away from that number. That gives us 8 weekends to get the "JOB" done! Now lets think about our weekends. We go up to the lake house on Friday night after work. That gives us all day Saturday to work on the house and 1/2 of a day on Sunday! So we really don't have much time left!

I haven't updated yall in a while! I even have a few pictures to load! We've had the AC hooked up! Thanks to my best busy at work! They came up 4th of July weekend and her hubby hooked everything up for us. This past weekend Mr. "S" and Pop's installed the front porch rails and steps! They also installed our new front door! I don't know if yall remember we were going to install the door with the glass star. Well, that door was $429, I found a door on the clearance rack at Home Depot for $99 and I love it! The star door had a square glass the door we bought had an oval glass. I like it and I love the fact we saved so much money!

The weekend before last, we knocked out the closet in the guest bedroom to expand the closet in our bedroom! Mr. "S" and Pops put up all the sheet rock and mudded it in! It looks great! It's still going to be small for us so we will be down sizing our clothes before we move up there!!

So that is a brief run down on what's been going on in our world! Just busy-busy!

4th of July F-U-N!!!!!

The fun started up at the lake Thursday night ~ July 3rd! We had a blast! It was me, Mr. "S", my brother John, Danielle, Mr. "S's" brother Shane, Pop's, my brother brought a friend from work "A-Boy" and Shane brought one of his old time buddies Sney! We all just sat around on the back porch until Shane decided it would be a GREAT idea if we went to the local bar and grill that we always hang out at! He wanted to show Sney how country folks hang out and party!

For real...this won 1st place! I have a few problems with this!
It's NOT a golf cart and it looks like total crap! How did they win over us?
For real? Look at the junky PVC pipe holding up what looks to be a table cloth! I'm sorry I missed the memo that said "REDNECK 4th of July Parade"! Yeah, I'm a sore loser! I don't think this should have won. Big deal that they had a kid sitting down on a bench playing the fiddle.

I don't have a picture of this! It was a jeep with some camo stuff over it and some kids had camo face pant on. Once again! It's a golf cart parade but a jeep won 3rd! Yep, I'm still bitter!

I took Lil Miss "H" to a kids day spa for some girlie-girl fun! Mr. "S", his brother-n-law "N" and nephew "C" went golfing!
