1. Which do you like better:
Hosting Thanksgiving at your home or going elsewhere?
I've only hosted Thanksgiving once and that is a L-O-N-G story! We always go to my Nanny's for Thanksgiving! That is where we will be tomorrow! I'm hoping to start a new Thanksgiving tradition next year! I'm thinking of hosting Mr. "S" b-day party and a friends/family Thanksgiving the same weekend! I want to incorporate Leigh's Family Turkey Toss into our new Family Tradition!!!

2. Do you buy a fresh or frozen turkey? Organic? Free-range?
The year I hosted Thanksgiving I bought a frozen turkey! I'm guessing the turkey we eat on Thanksgiving at my Nanny's is a frozen turkey as well?!?!

3. Do you make stuffing or dressing? What kind?
I don't make the stuffing my mom does and it is the BEST ever! It's a Southern Cornbread Stuffing with lots of chicken, onions and celery in it! I really need to learn how to make this! When I say it's the BEST ever! It is! Take my word for it! I can't to chow down on it tomorrow!

4. Sweet potato pie or Pumpkin pie?
I like them both! I also love my Nanny's coconut pie and pecan pie!!! I have to tell you about this restaurant called Pappadeaux they serve a Sweet Potato Pecan Pie and let me tell you from many years of experience ~ it's heavenly!

5. Are leftovers a blessing or a curse?
I love, love, love leftovers! We always fight over my Nanny's candied sweet potato's! She makes the best! This year I won't be getting many leftovers since we are leaving out of town Friday morning for Canton!

6. What side dishes are a must-have in your family?
My Nanny's candied sweet potato's, green bean casserole, potato salad, my mom's southern cornbread dressing and don't forget the cranberry sauce! YUMMERS!

7. What do you wish you had that might make Thanksgiving easier?
I'm just fine with the way it is! Well, I wish Nanny's house was bigger so that we could all fit at one table! =)

8. If/when you go to someone else’s house for the holiday, do you usually bring a dish? If so, what is it?
I called my nanny yesterday to see if she needed me to bring anything and she said no! She has it all under control! In the past I've made the green bean casserole! I was thinking about making a cream cheese dip with wheat thins this year! Just something to snack on before the big meal!

9. What do you wish one of your guests would bring to your house?
I don't ever asking anyone to bring anything when they come over if they offer then I tell them to bring one of their favorite dishes!

10. What do you wish one of your guests would NOT bring to your house?
I don't know? Dumb question!

11. Do you stick with a particular menu from year to year, or do you mix it up?
I do not host Thanksgiving! My Nanny's sticks to the same menu each and every year!

12. Is Thanksgiving a religious or secular holiday in your home?
It's a holiday for our family to come together, enjoy each others company, eat lots of yummy food, watch the Dallas Cowboys play some Thanksgiving football and take naps!

13. Share one Thanksgiving tradition.
We really don't have one? Well, unless you want to call the Dallas Cowboy's our tradition! We watch them play every year!!!

14. Share one Thanksgiving memory.
The year I cooked my first turkey! It was a blast! Like I said, I'm not going to talk about it though! L-O-N-G story!

15. Name five things you’re thankful for.

*I'm so very THANKFUL and GRATEFUL to have Mr. "S" in my life! He is a WONDERFUL man!

*I'm so very THANKFUL and GRATEFUL for the house that we have! Yall know we have worked our butt off for it!

*I'm so very THANKFUL and GRATEFUL for the family that I have! We have our good days and our bad days but they are still my family and I will always love them!

*I'm so very THANKFUL and GRATEFUL to have a job with our crazy economy! I've been with my company for 11 1/2 years!

*I'm so very THANKFUL and GRATEFUL for the WONDERFUL friends I have in my life! Yall know who you are! Real life friends and blog friends!

Mr. "S" Birthday

I'm pretty sure Mr. "S" had a WONDERFUL birthday! I bought him lots of great goodies! A new pair of Black Nike Shox!!! So cool!!! So cool!!! I bought him a $50.00 Kohl's gift card - he likes to get his Levi jeans there!!! I pre-ordered him the new Gun's & Roses CD - Chinese Democracy that comes out this Sunday!! He is such a GNR fan from back in the day! I printed off a picture of the CD and wrote Happy Birthday - It's Pre-Ordered - he was totally surprised! I also bought him some of the cigars he likes!

Last night dad took us to dinner for Mr. "S" b-day! We went for Mexican food! Yummy!

This Saturday is Mr. "S" Birthday Bash! I'm soooooooooooooooo EXCITED!!! I think there will be 25-35 people there!!! It's our first REAL party since we've moved into the house!!! We are getting the weekend rental house across the street from us so our friends will have a place to stay!!! The lady that owns the weekend lake house rental is a friend of mine - she is letting us rent her weekend house for FREE as long as we clean it up!!! YIPPEE!!! That is soooooooooooo freaking SWEET of her!!! The party will start around 4pm and go till who knows when!!! We will have Karaoke for those who think they can sing!!! We will have a big fire in the fire pit to keep us warm!!! I'm thinking after a few drinks we might play a few FUN games such as:

We are having BBQ Brisket, Beer Butt Chicken, BBQ Ribs, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, German Chocolate Birthday Cake and tons of chips and dips!!! If I'm not running around like a crazy woman I promise to take pics of the food spread and yummy the cake - I had it made special for him from one of my favorite local bakeries!!! Yall just don't know how yummy this cake was!!! I hope Mr. "S" German Chocolate turns out just as yummy!

I love every SINGLE thing about my package!!!! The card, the gift wrap, the ribbon, the candy (every last bite of it), the Glade Scented Oil Candles, the lotion, the chap stick (it's wonderful), the photo calender, the magnetic weekly calender (it went up on the fridge last night), the bath and body mini lotions (just the right size for my purse) and the snow flake picture ornament! I love it all!!!! You ROCK!!!! It's like you know me or something?!?! =) Do you? lol Have you been sneaking around my blog? Have I been by your blog? I'm trying to figure you out! All I know is you are from Ohio (thanks to the return address on the box)! HA!

200 Blog Posts ~ Wow!

Two hundred posts! So cool! I can't believe I've blogged that much?!?! Wow!

I know yall aren't here to recap my 200 blog posts yall are here to find out how well I did at my yard sale?!?!?

I went well over my goal of $150.00! I made $361.25 and Mr. "S" made $72.50!!! He didn't even put that much stuff in the sale!!! Two chairs, a motorcycle helmet and a few shirts. The chairs were a big item, they sold for $40.00 - $20.00 each! Very nice, very modern! Danielle's mom bought them for her TV room! Great buy for her! I told her I was only letting her borrow them till we get our game room built! =)

Yall are going to be upset! I didn't take ANY pictures! =( I left my camera in my car the whole time. It didn't even cross my mind! The sale was very very overwhelming to me!!! We had sooooooooo many people stopping by! We were still trying to set things up and people were trying to check out! It was nuts! I wasn't as organized as I would have liked to be! I will be prepared for the next yard sale!

Let me just tell you - I did NOT do very well with the people that were trying to bargain with me! I felt I already had a GREAT price on my items and I wasn't going to be talked down! This one lady and her son were trying to talk me down on my (3) blankets like THIS! I had them marked at $3.00 each! Just like new - they were navy blue, black, white and gray! They wanted all (3) for $7.00! I was like NO way! I told the lady I will keep them before I sale them to you for that price! These (3) blankets were worth $30.00 +! I told her, "I think you can pay $9.00 for all (3) which was a steal of a deal" and she did!!! I had my items priced to sale! Not priced to haggle! There was this one guy that wanted to buy this decorative kitchen set that I had which consisted of a brand new apron, dish towel, (2) pot holders and (2) oven mitts - I had it marked at $10.00 for the set! Which was a GREAT deal - it was $50 new! He wanted it and he wanted it bad but he only wanted to pay $8.00! I would NOT come off the price what-so-ever! He had a box of stuff that he was buying! He said if you don't come off the price then I'm not buying what I have in the box! I told him so what! I don't care! I wasn't about to let him talk me down (he was a jerk...I didn't need his money that bad)! I told him I would keep it before I sold it for less than $10.00 and guess what - I kept it! I took it out of the sale but he did buy the box of stuff he had because he knew he was getting a great deal!!! We sold over $600 Friday and Saturday! It was GREAT! We are going to do another yard sale in the spring!

On to other things....

Saturday when I got home from the sale I was beat but there was no stopping there! Mr. "S" brother Shane came up with his new girlfriend and we had planned on grilling burgers. I had been gone from our house since Friday morning! I was staying at Danielle's were the yard sale was being held which is about a 45 min drive from our house. Any ways...when we were wrapping things up at the sale on Saturday Mr. "S" called to asked me to stop at the store to get the groceries for the burgers. I was instantly pissed about this! He went to town Saturday morning to Lowe's and Wal-Mart. Why couldn't he have picked things up? Please tell me? So I came home with a little attitude! Tired! Not in a very good mood! I had to go to the grocery store after driving 45 minutes home and then come home and season the burgers and get them ready for the grill, make cheese dip and cut up the veggies for the burgers. I just thought he could have done this since he was already at the house! I may have over reacted? I don't know! Now we are going at it! He is pissed at me because I had an attitude and that I didn't care that he had mowed the grass, put up a small shelf in the laundry room, picked up the spare bedroom and changed out the light in our bathroom. He did these projects Friday and Saturday. I still think he could have picked up the hamburger meat while he was in town Saturday morning at Lowe's and Walmart! It's like he doesn't think that far in advance...there is no initiative on his part? I feel like he thinks that is just my job...I felt like I was being taken for granted! It's like we aren't on the same page? I think one way and he thinks another and we both feel we are right and neither of us want to give?!?! Ugh! It's over something soooooooo dumb but yet neither of us will give! Why can I convince other people that I'm right but yet I can't convince him that I'm right? He doesn't see it my way! Not that my way is right. It's like he doesn't understand me and the situation! Hopefully we will make up tonight! It's more fun to make up than fight!

The Cowboy's won last night! YIPPEE!!! We really needed that win!!!

This is the piece of furniture I bought from our neighbor's garage sale this past weekend!

I paid $50.00 ~ Do you think I got a good deal?

It's solid wood! No scratches! It's in perfect condition! We put it between the kitchen and dinning area!

Don't pay attention to our paint job! We are still trying to install all the crown molding! I just wanted to show you some of my kitchen wine decor!

Just another look at the top of our kitchen cabinets! The grape vines you see light up - I have them strung all across the tops of the cabinets! It's sooooo CUTE!

The weekend went by way tooooooooooooooo fast!!!! =(

Friday night Mr. "S" and I went out to eat with my dad, brother and Danielle! We went to a hole in the wall restaurant. I don't think we will be going back! Someone had told us they had the best catfish in town!!! Let's just say that it wasn't the best catfish I would have to lean towards the worst catfish!!! lol

Saturday morning I laid around in bed and watched tv...it felt to nice to be lazy! It felt so nice not getting up with the rosters! (Heck, I don't even think the roaster get up as early as we do during the week!) I slowly motivated myself to head out to my dad's to go through my storage shed! Well, that didn't happen! Dad and I ended up running around all day looking at houses! His house was damaged by hurricane Ike! We found one 4 hours later going from house to house! We'll see what happens! He is in no hurry! While I was gone on Saturday Mr. "S" really worked his butt off (which he doesn't have much of) in the yard! He cut down a tree that was damaged, racked the whole yard and had three huge fires going (we live in the country)! We sat around the one fire of logs and roasted marshmallows and hot dogs! YUMMY! This seems to be a weekend ritual for us!!!

Sunday Mr. "S" work me up early so we could go on a breakfast date and beat the crowd! After that we went home so I could jump in my car and head back out to dads to go through my storage shed! Holy moly did I get myself into a HUGE mess!!! The whole shed is filled with junk! Stuff I do NOT want! Danielle and her mom came over to help me load things up! Thank goodness for them!!! We had their whole truck filled plus the back end of my Durango was filled to the rim with the 3rd row seat down! Wow! I just can't get over how much crap I've accumulated over the years! What a GREAT cleansing experience this will be! Plus I will get some extra spending cash for our Canton trip!!! Woooooo-Whooooooo!!!!! So wish us luck!!! Danielle is going to run the sale by herself this coming Friday and then me and her mom will be there to help her on Saturday! I will take some pics so you can see all of our junk!!! lol

After I was done with the yard sale stuff dad grilled us up some T-Bone steaks and pinto beans! I took some left-overs home to Mr. "S"! He should have been there! =) Instead he was at home installing door and floor trim!!! He is such a hard worker!!! I'm lucky to have him!!!

So that's it for our weekend! Nothing exciting!

It's Friday!

I'm soooooooooooooooooo glad it's the weekend! It's been a hard L-O-N-G week! I think it's mostly because of the time change! We leave in the morning and it's DARK! We get home after work and it's DARK! Which is soooooooooooooooooo NOT cool!!! It has really wore me down this week! As soon as we walked in the door last night I jumped in the shower and then in bed! I watched part of Grey's Anatomy till I fell a sleep! I was beat! All I can say is TGIF! I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow morning!!!

Tomorrow, I'm going out to dad's to sort through a bunch of my old stuff or should I say junk - clothes, household items, etc! I'm joining in with my friend Danielle at her yard sale next weekend! I hope to make at least $100! Well, that is depending on what all I sort through!

At the end of this month (Nov 28th & 29th - Thanksgiving Weekend) we have a trip planned to Canton, Texas! It's a HUGE once a month event called Trade Day's! Click HERE to see all the different shopping booths!!! We are staying in some really cute cabins up on a mountain! My brother booked these cabins almost a year in advance! I think there is like 8 of us going! YIPPEE!!!! I can't wait!!! I'm ready for a weekend get-away! I'm soooooooo excited I can't wait to spend money - that is why I'm hoping I will make some extra spending cash at our yard sale!

One last thing- Our gas has dropped to $1.99 - I hope you all are seeing the wonderful relief!

It was my first time EVER being a guest blogger! Wow, that made me very feel important and put on the spot all at the same time! At first I was freaked out because I didn't know what to write or what to say (that is so unlike me) and then I just went with the flow! I'm happy with the way it turned out!

I'm going to VOTE!!!!

I was kind of upset this morning to think I couldn't vote?!?! I didn't know where to go since Mr. "S" and I moved? Well, I found out this afternoon and I'm going to vote as soon as I get off work!!!! This election is going to go down in the history books either way!!! I wanted to be part of it!!!

I've been posting alllllllllllllllllllllllll day long so keep scrolling down to get caught up on test results, wedding update, my brother's b-day, contest winner, me not winning the costume contest, etc! It's been a busy day or should I say not so busy day! lol

I wanted to let yall know I just received a call (12:21pm) from the dermatologist office! If you are wondering why I was waiting on this call or what I'm talking about click HERE or HERE!

The 5 moles including the one I was really, really worried about on my underarm all came back benign (non-cancerous)!!! YIPPEE!!! This is GREAT news to someone who has been diagnosed with Melanoma!!!!
