One Heck Of A "DEAL"

I couldn't wait to blog about the "DEAL" we got last night at Lowe's! If you read my blog you know that mom was taking us to get our stackable washer and drier as an early wedding gift!

Well, I had already researched stackable units, sizes and prices at several different locations and Lowe's seemed to have what we wanted (well, what would fit) for the right price!
The unit we were planning on buying was a Frigidaire 2.7 Cu. Ft. Washer / 5.7 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer Stacked Laundry Unit for $798.00! I called our local Lowe's on Tuesday gave them the model # and they assured me they had two in stock!

Last night when we arrived at Lowe's the price tag said $898.00 (WHAT)? This unit did not have the specs so I just assumed it was the same unit that I was looking at on the internet for $798.00 because it was the ONLY stackable unit on the sales floor. We waited for about 30 minutes for the sales guy to finish up with a customer. This man NEVER once even acknowledged we were standing there waiting (very rude I must add). I finally walked off and found someone that was willing to help us! She said she didn't work in this department but she would do her best to help us!!! (It was the fact that she was willing to help that meant so much to us)! My mom called her over and asked if they work on commission and she said that she does not but the sales guys do! My mom immediately told her well, I'm buying this and I want you to get the commission because the other guy is rude and never even acknowledged us! The Lowe's lady pulled the model # up on the computer and I told her about the price difference on the internet! She said sometimes the store prices do not match the internet prices so they didn't have a problem price matching! I was like COOL that was easy! =) The computer said they only have one in stock so she went to the check the back of the store stock area. She said they could have one or it could just be the floor model that is showing up as stock. Well, she comes back and says the only one they have is the floor model and she could sell it to us! It was in WONDERFUL condition! It had a few small scratches at the very bottom! Nothing a magic eraser can't fix! So we asked how much of a discount they would give us for floor models? She came back and said 10% and I was like NO WAY surly they will give more! Then a manager came over and gave us a 20% discount! We bought the Stackable Waher & Drier for $638! What a deal huh? Wait, it gets even better!

Today I was checking out the Lowe's website to see if the model # we bought matched up to
THIS unit (you know the one for $798)? Well, it didn't match up! It matched up to a unit that really did cost $898 and it's a little bit bigger! =) It's the Frigidaire 3.0 Cu. Ft. Washer / 5.7 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer Stacked Laundry Unit!!!!! So we got a $898 unit for $638! Doesn't that just ROCK!!!! I'm soooooooooooooooooo excited! Even though we didn't pay for it we sure did save mom some money!!!

This afternoon when Mr. "S" and I get off to work we are heading over to Lowe's to pick up our Washer & Drier! =) Yippee! I called dad and he has already picked up all the electrical to wire it up!

We can't wait to get to the house to start working!

We aren't going to have much of a party weekend! We are grilling out on Sunday but other than that we will be working our tail~ends off! My dad will be there to help us, my brother is going to work in the yard (we have 3 trees that need to come down)! His girlfriend which is one of my very best friends is going to help me prep the walls for texture and paint! We are also going to tear out the rest of the carpet! We have a lot of work to do this weekend and I will try and take a bunch of pictures to give you all an update!

I hope yall have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!!!!! Be safe and have lots of fun!!!!!

Just a little bit of nothing

Wow, we are sooooooooooo ready for the weekend! We are ready to get up to the house and work, work, work! For real, we can see the end in sight! We are really making progress! Woooooo-Whoooooo!

Last night Mr. "S" and I jumped on the bikes and hit the trail behind our apartments! We had such a good ride! We didn't stay out long because we didn't want to over do it! When we came in both our legs were killing us! It's amazing how OUT OF SHAPE we are! It was so much FUN! I can't wait to ride again even though my I'm a little sore today! Last week we had planned to ride and it rained ~ all week long! Monday of this week we planned to ride and we had great intentions to do so ~ when we pulled out our bikes the tires were flat! So I was going to get an air pump on Tuesday but it was raining so there was no point! Yesterday on my way home from work it was "FINALLY" nice and sunny out so I stopped by Academy to buy an air pump!

After we came in from riding we watched the FREE movie I picked out from Red Box! "The Secret"! It was good but different!!!

Plot: In the spirit of Ghost and Birth, Hannah and Benjamin are a happily married couple whose love is tested in ways they never could have imagined in this touching supernatural drama. But when Hannah is killed in a car accident, the couple's strong bond may be responsible for an unusual twist of fate that keeps their love alive -- at the expense of their daughter. See what I mean about different!

Tonight Mr. "S" and I are meeting up with my mom to take a trip to Lowe's! She is going to buy our washer and drier for us as an early wedding gift! I'm sooooooooo thankful that I have parents that are able to help us...I don't know what we would do without them! After that mom is going to take us to dinner! =) I'm so excited! I called Lowe's the other day and they have the stackable washer and drier in stock! I'm hoping we can install it this weekend!

Just a Quickie

Last night was supposed to be a night of bike riding! HA! Well, that didn't happen! I bet you are wondering what did happen with my provocative blog title! HA! Well, it rained so we stayed in!

That is where the "Quickie" blog title came in! =) I wanted to do a "Quickie Post" and tell you about the movie we watched! It was soooooooooooooooooo funny and I felt the need to share it with you all! I love a good movie!

So run out and rent:
Staring Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher!

See now...wasn't that a "QUICKIE" unlike my L-O-N-G post from yesterday that wore most of you out that read it!
More to come, More to come!

By the way tonight is FREE movie rental night at Red Box here is the Promo Code: DB96TH

I don't want yall to think I get anything for blogging about Red Box because I don't! I just want to share the FREE movie rental love with yall!!! Ya know ~ It's kind of like hookin a sister up ~ cause that is what we do! *WINK*

An update from the weekend....

Let me start off by saying:
We worked our BUTTS off this past weekend!
I was so so so so so sore and tired yesterday when I attempted to crawl out of bed and get ready for work!!!! Thank goodness I have a DESK job!!!!!

I was very THANKFUL we didn't go to the lake house Friday night after work (as planned)! I wasn't feeling well at all! Remember me saying my ear hurt last week?!?! Well, I don't think it was ALL my ear! I think part of it was my mouth/teeth!!! Friday I was at lunch and I went to bite down on a chip and it HURT soooooooooooooooooooo BAD!!!! It only felt better if I pressed on the side of my jaw near my ear and temple! I went home and took some meds and laid down!!! I was in so much pain for whatever reason? It was very strange! Nothing like this has ever happened to me! We ordered in dinner Friday night ~ thin crust pizza and that even hurt my mouth/teeth?!?!? I woke up at 6am Saturday morning feeling a letter better! Believe it or not ibuprofen really does HELP!

We made it up to the lake house Saturday morning and kicked it in to high gear! First off we found out that the AC unit was leaking inside the house! Mr. "S" heard something dripping ~ Come to find out the drain line was plugged up! This is our 3rd wrestling match with this thing ~ 1st time was when we hooked it up to think it was working fine, to find out the 2nd time the outside unit just stopped on us for what we thought was "no good reason" (it ended up being a short in the wire feeding the outside unit and also an extra big THANKS to the ants - they were in total "attack the ac mode")! I just hope it will get us through till next summer and maybe we can afford to buy a whole new unit ~ inside and out!!! After that little bit of a project Mr. "S" tackled the bathroom sink plumbing!!! The plumbing is this house is such a nightmare (I won't even go there)! Dad ran us a new electrical outlet in the kitchen area for a cabinet we are hoping to build out once we get into the house! Honestly, Saturday was not a very accomplishing day!

Sunday on the other hand was a great day and this is where all my soreness came from! I woke up to Mr. "S" sanding the walls in the bathroom to get ready for texturing so I started tearing out the old flooring in the bathroom and kitchen! I've been wanting to tear up that OLD nasty Vinyl floor for a long, long time!!! Once I started I noticed there was 3 layers! ***SWEET***! Lets just say that it kicked my butt, I even have war wounds to prove it!!! I also pulled up some of the carpet in front of the bedroom doors going into the living room area!

Mr. "S" managed to get the kitchen counter top pulled up (without breaking it) so we could figure out WHY it was sagging?!?! We pulled it up and seen there was no back support or brace where the two counters come together! Whoever worked or lived in this house prior to us buying it was total idiots!!! They did everything half a** or backwards! The hot/cold water lines were backwards, they laid the bathroom vanity and the kitchen cabinets on the first layer of vinyl flooring! Why didn't they just pull it up? It wasn't that hard to do with one of those scrapers (heck I did it)!?!?!? They just took the easy way out on a lot of things!!! You just don't do that?!?! Pure laziness!!!! So we are the ones that get stuck with all the PROBLEMS and REPAIRS! I guess that makes up for the fact we bought this house so DIRT CHEAP!

We did manage to get the bathroom textured and it looks GREAT!!! I have a lot of clean-up work to get done where the texture got on the vanity and the bathtub ~ let me just say a wet rag does a fine job with this mess!!! We really wanted to paint the bathroom but the texture wasn't dry so that will be the FIRST thing we do this coming Saturday!

There is sooooooooooooooooo much work to get done! =(
We only have 3 more weekends to get it alllllllllllllllll done before we MOVE IN!!!!

It's been very discouraging!
We think we get something fixed/repaired one weekend and we go back up the following weekend to find ourselves working on it again ~ Just like the AC! We sometimes feeling like we are working in circles! It's really hard when you only have a weekend to get these things done!!!

We took pictures from this weekends work but I haven't loaded them! I might do a revised post later this week?

We are really hoping to accomplish a lot this weekend ~ since we have the extra day on Monday!

  • We are hoping to get all the walls in the house textured and hopefully painted!
  • Tear out the carpet in the living room (which also means tear up tack strip and floor trim)!
  • We are hoping to get 3 new doors installed ~ (2) Bedroom & (1) Bath
  • We are hoping to have the washer and drier installed this weekend! Which means a lot of work! Knocking out part of a wall, reframing it, laying tiles down (we bought THESE last weekend for the utility room and bathroom ~ they look almost slate), putting up sheet rock, taping and floating, installing a 4th door!

See what I mean about the work load we have! It's crazy! I'm just hoping we make groundbreaking progress this weekend!!!! We have 3 days to get it done!!! Wish us luck! I'm sure yall are getting tired of reading about our weekend to-do list! Trust me...we are getting tired of all the work!!! I can't wait till we can just sit back and enjoy it all!!!

Just down right giddy!

I'm just down right from bloggy love that I received over the weekend! I have some of the BEST blog friends ever!!! I'm sooooooooo grateful for the friendships I've made! Who would have thought?

This is the award I received from Leigh over at
Tales From Bloggeritaville and from Drama Mama at Drama Pound! I must say that both of these southern gals are a hoot! Their blogs are a joy to read! I find myself laughing out loud 95% of the time!!! So please stop by and say hi! They would LOVE to have ya!!!

I would like to pass this award on to Sunny Little Blog, CPA Mom, Marmite & Tea, Erin, Amy, Jessica, Nicole, Mandy, Laurie, Kristin, Steffi, "Deal"icious Mom & My Good Cents!

I would also like to thank Forgetfulone for tagging me with this friendship poem!!!

! We just eat on the go! This coming weekend is Labor Day weekend! PARTY! I do know we are grilling out on Sunday! Which will consist of BBQ Ribs, Beer Butt Chicken, Sausage, Baked Beans, Potato Salad & Peach Cobbler! I'm hoping I can work all these calories off! HA!

Our menu is looking a little BLAH this week for two reason!
#1. We are trying to save money!
#2. We are trying to cook the foods we have in the pantry, fridge and freezer so we don't have to move them! The lake house is an hour drive from our apartment and I don't feel like loading down all the ice chest with "FRIDGE FOOD"!!!

If you would like to join in on this weeks Menu Plan Monday click
HERE, you will totally get addicted!!!!!

Thie week flew by!

Where did this week go? It flew by!

As you know we have a "Weekend Work List" as always! We will head up to the lake after we get off work today!!! We have a lot of work to get done this weekend! We are knocking out a wall in the kitchen that goes into the utility room. We have to fit this stackable washer and drier in there! I'm not happy about getting this style or size washer and drier!!! I wanted one of the nice, efficient, colorful, front load washer and drier units! Have you price checked these bad boys?!?!? Can I just say, "Cha-Ching" I have expensive taste! We don't have that kind of money to spend right now or the room! Okay so back to knocking out the wall ~ We are going to knock it out, expand the door way, frame it out for a new door and resheetrock the wall! We are hoping to have the kitchen and bathroom textured and painted this weekend! This is a lot of work! We will be pulling some late nights!!! Wish us luck!!!

I would like to say thanks to everyone for stopping by and checking out my new look! I'm glad you liked it! =)

So here is another look at our forecast:

We are still getting rain ~ 5 days straight!

I hope you all have a great weekend! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Check Out "MY" Bloggy Make-Over

Yes, you are in the right place the is "J" ~ Musings From Left Field! It's my new look! What do you think?

I love it and it goes PERFECT with my blog title that Giants Fan picked out for me when I started this blog!

If you are looking for a new look for your blog head on over to Creative Blog Designs and Becky will give you the "HOOK-UP"! For real! She did this for me in less than 24 hours! It was such an easy process!!!! I would have NEVER thought!

Now my blog is a little more personalized and little more "ME" (besides how skinny the blond chick is ~ that is sooooooooo not me ~ I only wished ~ lol)!!!

I hope you like my new look because I love it and I think Becky at Creative Blog Design ~ ROCKS!!!! For real, she is so "CHEAP" but in a GOOD way!!!!! =) Go check her out!!!!

Why I didn't wake up early this morning...lol

I didn't get up this morning as planned! Boo-Who! =( I wasn't 3 for 3! I couldn't sleep last night for 3 reasons!

#1. I was sooooooooooooooooo pumped up after watching the Olympics ~ Woman's Beach Volleyball that I couldn't sleep! Kerri Walsh & Misty May WON the GOLD defeating China!!! This victory lead them to their second consecutive gold medal ~ ROCK ON!!!! I have sooooooooooooooooo much love for the game for so many reasons! I grew up playing volleyball I even had a volleyball scholarship to college and 2 years ago when I was in Atlanta I met both
Kerri Walsh & Misty May! I don't know how Mr. "S" slept through my excitement!

Here is a few pics I took of the girls in 2006 when I attended the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour in Atlanta! It was so cool how AVP just came into the middle of Atlanta and set up all these beach volleyball courts! I would have never imagined!

Check out her legs! The first thing I asked her was, "is it hard to find jeans to fit you" for real yall! She is 6'2"! I'm only 5'11" and I have trouble finding jeans! Kerri was so nice! She said back in the day she had trouble but now more jeans are coming in extra long length! Which is so true!

Misty signing autographs! The girls were so nice! They autographed a miniature AVP volleyball for me! I had originally bought the volleyball for my brother as a souvenir not thinking I would ever seen anyone I would want an autograph from. Heck, I didn't think I would recognize ANYONE at the tournament! The day I went was the Thursday preliminaries. There was no reason for May's or Walsh to be there. I got so LUCKY! They came to do a photo shoot!

In the pics below you will see the girls doing their thing with the photography crew on the other side of the net getting slammed! HA!

I had to take a pic of the bracket! If you look close you will see May/Walsh play at 9:30am - Friday

This is a pic that I took I cropped it down of Kerri crushing the ball!!!

Oh yeah, I got off track a little....here is my 2nd reason for not waking up this morning to cook breakfast and packing our lunch!

#2. My ear is killing me! It feels like a knife stabbing pain! Even my jaw hurts! I was up all night off and on! Whatever this is ~ I hope it goes away!

#3. It was storming like crazy! I pulled the covers over my head and tried not to hear the crashing thunder! I'm not a storm girl what-so-ever! We have this half moon window in our bedroom and I could see the sky light up from all the lighting! This sister says ~ No can do! Thank goodness it let up so I could run out to my car to come to work! =)

Last night Mr. "S" and I watched a movie thanks to the FREE movie code I received via text on my cell phone from
Red Box! It was called "The Life Before Her Eyes". Have yall seen this? I'm lost? I don't get the ending! I found this movie to be very disturbing! I was hoping someone could give me some insight!

Mr. "S" talked to Lil Miss "H" on the phone last night! Just as he does each and every Wednesday night! any ways she was telling him how she meets her teacher tonight and how she will start school on Monday! We are so excited for her! He told her to call us and let us know how her first day went! Does Hallmark make cards for this occasion? If so I think I'm going to run out and get her a card and let her know how proud we are!!!!

Look at our 7 Day Forecast:

It has rained for 4 days straight with more to come!

August 20, 2008

2 for 2 ~ Plus Packing It Up!

I was up with the chickens again this morning! No burning daylight for me! There wasn't much daylight this morning just yucky rain showers (I'm sooooooooo ready for the rain to move on ~ even though we needed it)! Woo-Who! I'm 2 for 2! If this doesn't get me adjusted to getting up early once we move to the lake house I don't know what will? So back to my morning! I did it again today (I kind of need to brag on myself so I will continue to follow through)! I woke up 6:15am ~ made breakfast (bacon, egg, ff cheese taco ~ it wasn't very good ~ kind of blah ~ I think it was the 96% ff tortillas I bought), made homemade salsa, packed our lunch and cleaned the kitchen! I did NOT want to get out of bed since it was raining and nasty outside! I wanted to sleep in soooooooooooo bad! I didn't have time for a elliptical work out this morning! =( Oh well! There is always tomorrow! I wanted to mention that I've also been taking Woman's One A Day Vitamins! I think this is helping me get through the day! For real! Oh yeah and the Crystal Light Metabolism + Peach Mango Green Tea this really helps me make it through the day!

About last night...
I posted I was going to take some boxes home so we could start packing and that is just what we did! Last night was garage sale night! I did good but Mr. "S" did even better! I filled a WHOLE (BIG) box up with stuff I don't want! I seem to have the HARDEST time parting with flip flops (I'm a flip flop freak)! I was able to put 6 pairs in the garage sale box! YIPPEE for me! I was also able to put 2 stuffed pigs in the box! (Yes, I love pigs for whatever reason and anytime someone sees a pig they think of me....not cool huh? Well, it's nice that they are thinking of me but hopefully not as a PIG! lol)! Any ways, I also tossed a scanner that I won at a Christmas party at work! It's never been used! I managed to go through some old perfumes I never liked! So I will sale those full bottles in the yard sale! Plus some clothes ~ tons of shorts, tops and jeans!

Oh and tonight I'm going to list some stuff on ebay! Wish me luck! I have 3 pair of Tommy Hifiger shorts, 1 pair of polo shorts, a pair of BKE jeans (I'm thinking I can get $20+ for the jeans ~ I was researching all my stuff on ebay last night click
HERE and HERE ~ these are pre-owned same style just different size), a Michael Kors purse (that was giving to me ~ these are going for a lot of money) and some kind of Italian purse that was given to me!!!! I think I'm going to do good! I'm going to TRY and get all this stuff listed tonight! Mr. "S" also has (2) really nice (like new) leather jackets that we will be listing on ebay as well! One is a Wilson Leather vintage looking jacket that he paid $300+ for (hello, what was he thinking ~ oh wait he wasn't lol)!!! That boy has some strange addictions for leather jackets! I guess it's because he is from Ohio! He just needs to get over the leather jacket fix...heck we live in Texas!!!! I can get through the winter with ONE jacket!!!!

So with all that ~ I feel we are off to a GREAT start!

Oh yeah, one of my blog buds left me with a great tip yesterday and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the whole idea!!! So if you have TIPS about garage sales, packing, moving, tossing, down sizing, donating please let me know! She commented and said, "Throw something away every day. Be sure to have one of those boxes set for giving to Goodwill. Mark that box with neon paper or something, so it doesn't get packed! ~
Kristin" I love the idea of tossing something each and every day! I can do that for sure!!!! =) We are going to hold off on the Good Will box for now they all say Garage Sale! If it doesn't sale at the yard sale it will all go to Good Will!!!

One last thing! I found this really cool "
SHELF LIFE CHART" and wanted to share with you! I think this will help us pack up the kitchen! If it's old or getting old it's NOT going with us to the lake house! =)

August 19, 2008

I did it...

I followed "MY" plan! I got up at 6:15am and made our breakfast (Bacon, Egg, FF Cheese & Pico in a Whole Wheat Pita), packed our lunch (for me a BLT with Sun Chips and for MR. "S" a sandwich with Sara Lee Buffalo Style Breast of Chicken ~ YUMMERS)! Mr. "S" didn't think I had it in me! HA! I did it! I showed him! Now I just need to keep it up!

After he was off to work I still had 15-20 minutes before it was my normal "wake up" time so I jumped on the elliptical to break a sweat and watch the Today's show! I even ended up being 10 minutes early to work this morning! I guess I wasn't dragging like normal! Getting up might really do me some good! I figured if anything it will help me with the move we are about to make! Once we move up to the lake house I will have to get up at 5:30am so we will have enough time for the long drive into work! JOY!

Mr. "S" and I was very BUSY last night after work! I made dinner, we ate and then we ran over to get Mr. "S" a haircut! Then off to the grocery store we went! I love that he goes to the grocery store and helps me shop!!! After that we ran by
Red Box to get our FREE Monday night rental and then off to Jack In the Box to try the new Real Mango Fruit Smoothie for FREE (from a coupon I got in the paper)! It was soooooooooooooooo YUMMY! After that we got home and fought for a parking spot at our apartments that we HATE! (For real...we sometimes have to park a 100 yards or more away from our apartment! The parking is soooooooooooooooo jacked up!) We unloaded the car and I was off to wash and put away our veggies for the week! Do any of you do that? Wash and put away your veggies as soon as your come home from the store? That way when you go to use them when you need them? I learned this from Rachel Ray ~ 30 Minute Meals show! It just makes sense! I cut up lettuce, tomatoes and onions for our sandwiches and made fresh pico de gallo!!! It was finally time to sit down, relax and watch our movie!

That's about all that is going on with us! I'm taking home a TON of boxes form work so we can start packing tonight! We are getting a lot of rain so there is no bike riding or pool play for us! =( It will be nice to get a JUMP on packing! That will be one less thing we have to stress about in September! I'm also looking forward to
decluttering my closets!!!

August 18, 2008

The Weekend To-Do List.....

The weekend to-do lost was only 50% accomplished! It seemed like each project we started on turned out to be 5 other projects in its own! Just like installing the new hot water heater! That ended up turning into a plumbing nightmare for Mr. "S" and Pop's (his dad)!

We woke up Saturday morning and Mr. "S" tackled the flooring in the utility room! We thought we would pull up the old vinyl flooring and set the new hot water heater in it's place! HA! Wishful thinking! When we pulled up the old flooring you could see major floor damage and mold from where the OLD hot water heater leaked! So we had to STOP right there tear out the wooden floor, pull down water damaged sheet rock and remove the old yucky insulation! So off to Lowe's we went with a L-O-N-G material list! We were thinking we were going to Lowe's for plumbing supplies (for the bath tub and hot water heater) we added building materials (3/4" treated plywood $30 a sheet, green board and insulation)! Our total bill came out to $180+! I hate going to the check out stand at Lowe's...I cringe each and every trip! Not to mention that Mr. "S" had to make a 2nd and 3rd trip to Lowe's that came out to $90+!!!!

I will say that we accomplished the install of the hot water heater and bath tub plumbing! We also prepped the kitchen, utility and bathroom area so we can texture and paint next weekend! We did not hang the blinds, pull out the old carpet nor the base boards! It's just one of those things...you take it one step at a time! Dad was able to work on the electrical and get the AC unit working again! I don't know if I blogged about the AC unit going out after our friend came up and worked on it! =( Well, dad found some electrical connections that weren't hooked up very well! That was a CHEAP fix! Thank goodness!!!!

Sometimes I think it would have been sooooooooooooooo much easier to buy something that was move-in ready! We have put so much time, money and effort into this place!

Here are a few pictures from this weekend!
You can tell it's still under construction! This picture is the utility room where we installed the new hot water tank! We still have to patch the sheet rock (replace it with the green board) and lay vinyl flooring!

This is what our hardwood flooring looks like!

Close up of the flooring color!

These lights will be installed in the kitchen and the utility room!

This is the kitchen faucet we bought

This is the bathtub after Mr. "S" installed the new drain and three handle tub-shower faucet

This is what our bedroom closet doors will look like! We still need to install and paint!

This is part of the bedroom wall and part of the closet area! It's not a very good picture! Sorry! I was trying to get a picture of the paint color! Here is the color we picked click HERE!

As you know our weekends are crazy busy working at the lake house so we don't plan our weekends out! We just eat on the go! This past weekend I cooked a really good breakfast and it gave us fuel to work through lunch and just eat dinner!!! It consisted of scrambled eggs with tomato and onions, grilled potatoes and onions, ham, sausage links, bacon, biscuits and FF pepper gravy , homemade salsa, milk and orange juice! It was a breakfast fit for a king!

Our menu is looking a little dull this week! We are trying to cut down on what we eat at night because we ALWAYS go over board and eat way toooooooooooo much at night! That is why we are doing the Pita's 3 nights a week for dinner! I'm also trying to do something easy so we can eat and head out the door on our bikes! It's healthier and it will cut down on kitchen cleaning time which I'm all for!!! =)

August 15, 2008

I'm just glad it's the weekend....

Even though I didn't go to work Monday and Tuesday (because I was sick) it still feels like a long week!!!! I'm glad the weekend is here!!!

We have a lot going on this weekend at the lake house so I figured I would share my little list of to-do's:

* Change out all OLD plumbing for the sinks and tub!

* Tear up the floor in the utility room

* Dad is going to run new electrical for our washer and drier

* Replace Hot Water heater with the new one we just bought! Click
HERE (I hope it works)

* Patch any cracks, dents or dings in the sheetrock

* Hang blinds in our bedroom

* Prep (meaning cover-up) kitchen cabinets, bathroom sink and shower so we can come in and texture all the walls next weekend

* Pull up the old floor trim in the living room

* Tear out old carpet

I won't forget my camera this week! I promise to get some updated pictures!

So that is our small little to-do list! I'm hoping we can accomplish it all this weekend! We only have 5 weekends (YES I SAID 5...HOLY CRAP WHERE DID THE TIME GO) to get the house complete! That means we have to prep the walls (texture), paint the ceiling, paint the walls, install crown molding and install hardwood flooring!!! If you ask me...that is a lot! I've worked out a little to-do list thanks to my blog friend (
Kristin - The Goat) Lil Miss House Flipper!!! You can click HERE to see the list she made up for their final days at the flip house!

This is going to be a productive weekend ~ I can feel it in my bones or is that my back and my knees I already feel it in!!! I can see it now ~ We will be coming home Sunday afternoon, tired, dirty and worn out!!!

One thing I am looking forward to on Saturday is dinner! Dad is going to do a small little fish fry for us! YUMMERS! I can't wait! Nothing like being on the lake and having a fish fry!

I also want to report about some little goals that Mr. "S" and I set for ourselves last night! We are going to come home after work next week and ride our bikes! Yeah the ones we bought way back on this blog
POST!!! Lets just say we've road once or twice and that is it! We set a goal to ride all next week and then go to the pool afterwards to cool off and get some water exercise in! Which I'm all for! We have a really nice HUGE pool at our complex!!! See:

Wouldn't you want to hang out here too?

So next week is going to be allllllllllllllllllllll about BIKE RIDING and POOL EXERCISE! I feel like with me blogging about this it will hold me "accountable" for my actions!!! Just like my Menu Plan Monday! I blog about what I'm going to cook for the week and I stick to it! By the way ~ I love it!!! I know what I'm going to get in the grocery store and that's it...no extras! It's saving us money in the store...I'm not just randomly picking up things to by and maybe cook (like I use to do)! It's also saving us time...I have a game plan and I get it done! I love it! This week there were over "300" blogs to participate in the Menu Plan Monday! If you would like more info on MPM click
HERE!

This weekend I'm going to work on a more "healthy" menu for us! I'm going to start getting up in the mornings and cooking us a lite breakfast! I got some really good tips from my new Weight Watchers magazine that came in the mail this week! I'm thinking about making egg sandwiches, egg tacos and egg english muffins with salsa ~ changing it up a little each day! I might do a twist with some spinach and eggs or tomato and fresh basil with eggs! YUM-O! So yeah, back to me getting up and doing the whole "COOKING" breakfast thing. This is going to be new to me! I don't normally wake up till 7:15am now I'm thinking I will need to get up at 6am to cook breakfast, pack our lunches and still have enough time to shower and get ready for work! Please tell me I can do it!!! I think I can!!! I think I can!!! I think I can!!!

So that is that! Nothing real exciting! Just an over all update!

What's on your to-do list this weekend? CPA Mom ~ I know yours is always a mile long...lol!

This weekend is TAX FREE weekend here in Texas! I know some of the other states have already had their Tax free weekend! I'm glad to say that I won't be at the mall!!!

I'll catch up with ya on Monday!

CHOW!
